Ambassadors

Where we stand for

Niek van den Adel

Ambassador of Dolphin Suites

Niek van den Adel is an ambassador of Dolphin Suites Curaçao. As a speaker and writer, he has been working for many years on themes such as resilience, connection, and humanity. Drawing from his own life experiences, he shares stories about dealing with change, setbacks, and unexpected turns in life. This way of thinking closely aligns with what Dolphin Suites stands for.

Why Niek is an ambassador

From personal experience, Niek knows how profoundly life can change. These experiences are an important part of his story, but they do not define him entirely. For Niek, it is about the bigger picture: growing up with a strong and safe foundation, finding his own path, falling and getting back up, and learning from all of it.

During his visits to Dolphin Suites, he noticed how important it is that people are seen as individuals, not defined by limitations. Accessibility is not only about physical facilities, but also about feeling welcome and being able to participate. This belief is reflected in everything Niek shares and stands for.

Energy and mutual trust

For Niek, becoming an ambassador of Dolphin Suites was first and foremost a matter of feeling. Collaborations need to create energy on both sides. He felt that energy immediately at Dolphin Suites, in the people, the conversations, and the way everyone works together.

He is also very aware of how well care and support are organised in the Netherlands and how much there is still to gain on Curaçao. That awareness motivates him to contribute his time, attention, and voice to creating greater understanding. Not by pointing fingers, but by being present and starting conversations.

Awareness as the key impact

For Niek, the greatest impact often lies not in words, but in presence. Simply being visible, participating, and showing that people with disabilities are part of everyday life and society. That is his hope, also for Curaçao.

Through his talks and visits, he has seen how powerful visibility can be. Creating awareness, opening dialogue, and showing that everyone has a place in society is where he believes real change begins.

What Niek does

Today, Niek works as a speaker and writer, sharing his story with young people, organisations, and businesses. He speaks about resilience, connection, and the importance of staying connected to nature as part of a balanced life. He believes people live happier lives when they stay connected to each other and to their environment.

In addition, he supports initiatives that give something back to the community, driven by gratitude for the opportunities he himself has received.

Ambassador of Dolphin Suites

For Niek, Dolphin Suites represents a place where people are taken seriously and where personal attention comes naturally. Not as a special concept, but as a normal way of welcoming guests and caring for one another.

With Niek van den Adel as an ambassador, Dolphin Suites shows that hospitality goes beyond facilities. It is about energy, humanity, and the belief that everyone belongs.

Aksel Cijntje

Ambassador of Dolphin Suites

Aksel Cijntje is an ambassador of Dolphin Suites. Through his personal story and strong commitment, he represents what Dolphin Suites stands for: a place where everyone is welcome and where personal attention is central. Aksel believes in truly seeing people, in creating opportunities, and in continuing to trust—even when life takes an unexpected turn.

A meeting that stayed

Aksel knows what it is like when life suddenly changes. After a life-altering event, he became a wheelchair user. What followed was not a fixed path, but a search for new possibilities. Through handcycling, he rediscovered freedom, strength, and self-confidence. That sport eventually brought him back to Curaçao, where he was introduced to Dolphin Suites. What stood out to him was not only the accessibility, but especially the open and relaxed atmosphere. It felt like a place where he could simply be himself—without explanations or adjustments—just genuinely welcome.

Space to share ideas

That first encounter gave Aksel the space to share his ideas and dreams. Dreams about sport, inclusion, and creating opportunities for people who use a wheelchair. In the years that followed, he returned to Curaçao several times, often together with other handcyclists. This led to sporting initiatives that show what is possible when accessibility and trust come together. For Aksel, Dolphin Suites became a place where ideas could grow and where collaboration felt natural.

From personal experience to something for others

Aksel also faced challenging periods. Physical setbacks, a long rehabilitation process, and the COVID period created moments of reflection and stillness. During that time, the desire grew to share his experiences with others. With that in mind, he began focusing on young people, sharing his story with them. The message is simple: it is not about him, but about everyone who wants to be seen and taken seriously. During his studies, Aksel discovered how much his story resonates. What began as a personal presentation grew into invitations to speak at schools and groups throughout the Netherlands. His story is honest and relatable. Aksel shows that everyone has limits—visible or invisible—and that the difference lies in how you deal with them.

What Aksel does today

Today, Aksel is active as a speaker and inspirer. He shares his story to encourage people to keep believing in themselves and to engage in open dialogue with one another. Sport remains an important part of his life. Aksel is working on plans to make sports more accessible for people with disabilities and dreams of a future where he divides his time between the Netherlands and Curaçao, supporting and motivating young people in both places.

Ambassador of Dolphin Suites

As an ambassador of Dolphin Suites, Aksel shares the same vision on hospitality: everyone deserves a place where they feel at ease. For Aksel, Dolphin Suites is more than a hotel. It is an environment where accessibility is normal and where people are truly seen. With Aksel as an ambassador, Dolphin Suites shows that inclusion and personal attention are not extras, but a natural part of who they are.
