Committed for years makes us experts in the field of accessible travel.
The concept Dolphin Suites has been rated as an innovative tourism product for Curacao being the first and still only fully wheelchair accessible hotel in the Caribbean. Founded by the Curacao Dolphin Therapy & Research Center in 2008 to primarily serve families traveling to Curacao that participate in the 10-days dolphin assisted therapy program. A valuable addition to the tourism product on the Island and an opening to attract medical tourism to Curacao, therefore support by the Dutch PSNA fund in 2007. In the first 10 years we welcomed over 10.000 guests with special needs. With our focused marketing into this new niche market for Curacao it has put this Island on the map as an accessible destination offering accessible travel to the Caribbean.

MEET OUR TEAM

With a deep passion for merging hospitality with care, medical, and therapeutic treatments, I was fortunate to open this unique boutique hotel in March 2009.
Since then, I have cherished our concept, our dedicated team, and our loyal guests, working tirelessly to expand our vision both within Curaçao and beyond. Our mission is to create the most comfortable and exceptional destination for accessible holidays, offering life-changing experiences to our visitors. The past has shown me that by remaining true to our vision, it becomes a reality.
Over the past 15 years, we have introduced accessible tourism to Curaçao, collaborating with various local stakeholders to enhance the island's accessibility. We have welcomed over 20,000 wheelchair users, providing them with exceptional experiences as they explore the beauty and adventure our Caribbean paradise offers—all from the comfort of their wheelchairs. For many, this has been a transformative experience that has helped conquer fears and boosted self-esteem. Our slogan perfectly captures this essence: "Rediscover Yourself." When literal boundaries are removed, guests enter a paradise that replenishes their state of mind.
This mission is ingrained in our DNA, and it is a true pleasure to witness the positive changes we make in the lives of many guests every day.
We are also a cornerstone of the Curacao hospitality sector championing sustainable business practices and supporting various Island initiatives that set a positive example for others.
Since 2013, I have been actively involved with our partner, the Curaçao Dolphin Therapy Center, where we have successfully treated over 5,000 patients and their families in the past 20 years.
Looking ahead, we are focused on expanding our well-being services with effective individualized treatment programs and retreats for those suffering from exhaustion, burnout, or unhappiness. While our hotel remains fully accessible to all, we aim to provide an exceptional environment and level of service that enhances the overall experience for our guests, helping them feel uplifted and rejuvenated.

Previously I worked at the CDTC office, but in March 2019 I was transferred to Dolphin Suites.
I still do the same work as I did before, also for the same companies, just at another office.
I also like and try to help my colleagues at the front desk when it is busy around there.
Working at Dolphin Suites inspires me because it is a small-scale hotel which concentrates on care tourism.

Working at Dolphin Suites is very nice because of its small scale; I love to give our guests the feeling of being at home. Also getting to know them personally makes it a lot of fun.
Being able to help people with disabilities and their families, but also our multicultural, leisure guests, is a great pleasure. When you are working at the front desk, you are a true ambassador of the company. The guests but my colleagues as well, give me a wonderful feeling to go to work.

Since February 2019 am I resident at the beautiful Island Curacao. I like my job because it is not a big resort or hotel like the most accommodations on this Island.
Dolphin Suites is a smaller hotel and for that reason you get to know you guests more than normally.
It inspires me to see guests enjoy their vacation or participation into the dolphin assisted therapy program. I like seeing that Dolphin Suites hotel is visited by guests with different cultures.
What I like more, is humor and have a laugh with the guests. I do think that it is important to let our guests feel that nothing is asked to much.

10 years I already work for Dolphin Suites and still I work with lots of pleasure.
I love my job and have a lot of sweet colleagues I like to work with.
In my opinion, it is important to provide the best service to our guests.
I try to deliver my contribution as good as possible. How do I do that? By doing my work as I am supposed to do it with a little bit extra attention for our guests.
