ABOUT US

Rediscover Yourself at

Dolphin Suites & Wellness Curaçao

At Dolphin Suites & Wellness Curaçao, we believe travel is about more than taking a break. Every journey is an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, step outside your comfort zone, and return home renewed.

That is the meaning behind our philosophy: Rediscover Yourself.

Founded in 2008 by the Curaçao Dolphin Therapy & Research Center, Dolphin Suites was created to support families visiting Curaçao for dolphin-assisted therapy programs. Today, we are proud to be the first and still only fully wheelchair accessible hotel in the Caribbean.

Over the years, we have welcomed more than 10,000 guests with special needs and helped put Curaçao on the map as an accessible travel destination in the Caribbean.

But what truly defines us are the personal stories created here.

Every guest arrives with a different purpose — to relax, explore the island, enjoy wellness, or discover something new within themselves.

One of those guests was Russel Lash, who arrived with a lifelong fear of water. During his stay, he decided to join a Dolphin Swim, stepping far outside his comfort zone.

What started with hesitation slowly turned into confidence and freedom.

By the end of his stay, Russel was snorkeling, paddleboarding, and even trying adaptive scuba diving. The ocean that once scared him became a place of joy and adventure.

He returned home not only with memories of Curaçao, but feeling more confident, empowered, and connected with himself.

That is what we hope every guest experiences during their stay:
not just a vacation, but a journey that leaves you feeling renewed and inspired.

Start to rediscover yourself

WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE?

Dolphin Suites is – still - the only fully wheelchair accessible hotel in the Caribbean.
Although the hotel also welcomes guests without special needs, our professional team specializes in providing tailor-made services to guests with special needs.
The establishment of the hotel was supported by the PSNA program, also known as the Netherlands Antilles Cooperation Project.
This program originates from the Netherlands and is based on the principles of collaboration. The project is established by the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations to stimulate innovative business projects.
Dolphin Suites is a valuable addition for the diversity in tourism to Curacao
We actively work towards a more accessible Curacao. We’ve teamed up with several partners - such as local foundations and stakeholders in transport, activities, medical aid products and healthcare - with the aim to make the island more accessible for locals and  tourists that need a little more extra support. Yearly several local foundations and projects for people with special needs are support by Dolphin Suites.
Dolphin Suites is recognized as an accessible boutique hotel by the IAHD, the International Association of Handicap Divers.
We work closely together with several associations all over the globe focusing on accessible travel. Dolphin Suites has put Curacao on the map of wheelchair accessible destinations.  It also creates a welcoming additional niche to Curacao focusing on medical travel.

MEET OUR TEAM

Alette

General Manager

With a deep passion for merging hospitality with care, medical, and therapeutic treatments, I was fortunate to open this unique boutique hotel in March 2009.

Since then, I have cherished our concept, our dedicated team, and our loyal guests, working tirelessly to expand our vision both within Curaçao and beyond. Our mission is to create the most comfortable and exceptional destination for accessible holidays, offering life-changing experiences to our visitors. The past has shown me that by remaining true to our vision, it becomes a reality.

Over the past 15 years, we have introduced accessible tourism to Curaçao, collaborating with various local stakeholders to enhance the island's accessibility. We have welcomed over 20,000 wheelchair users, providing them with exceptional experiences as they explore the beauty and adventure our Caribbean paradise offers—all from the comfort of their wheelchairs. For many, this has been a transformative experience that has helped conquer fears and boosted self-esteem. Our slogan perfectly captures this essence: "Rediscover Yourself." When literal boundaries are removed, guests enter a paradise that replenishes their state of mind.

This mission is ingrained in our DNA, and it is a true pleasure to witness the positive changes we make in the lives of many guests every day.

We are also a cornerstone of the Curacao hospitality sector championing sustainable business practices and supporting various Island initiatives that set a positive example for others.

Since 2013, I have been actively involved with our partner, the Curaçao Dolphin Therapy Center, where we have successfully treated over 5,000 patients and their families in the past 20 years.

Looking ahead, we are focused on expanding our well-being services with effective individualized treatment programs and retreats for those suffering from exhaustion, burnout, or unhappiness. While our hotel remains fully accessible to all, we aim to provide an exceptional environment and level of service that enhances the overall experience for our guests, helping them feel uplifted and rejuvenated.

Hotel Manager

As the Hotel Manager at Dolphin Suites, I lead with passion and dedication, focusing on delivering exceptional service and creating a welcoming environment for all of our guests. With a strong background in business development and marketing, I am driven by the challenge of creating innovative strategies that cater to our niche market, while ensuring our hotel remains accessible and inclusive to everyone.

What I find most rewarding about my role is the opportunity to work closely with our team to make a real difference in the experience of each guest. Dolphin Suites is more than just a hotel; it’s a place where we embrace the idea of family, offering a supportive and caring environment for both guests and staff.

I am proud to be part of a team that continually strives for excellence, ensuring that our guests experience the highest level of service.

Dolphin Suites offers a unique concept that not only caters to accessibility but also ensures that everyone who walks through our doors feels valued and cared for. It’s this commitment to creating memorable experiences that makes Dolphin Suites such a wonderful place to work, and I am excited to continue contributing to its growth and success.

Caroline

Head of Marketing & Wellness

Languages: Dutch, English, a little Papiamentu & German
(I can order food & shoes in Spanish & French too… does that count?)

My role is all about positioning Dolphin Suites & Wellness as the wellness and accessible hotel of the island, while continuously finding new ways to connect with our guests and elevate their stay through meaningful wellness experiences.

What I love most? No two days are ever the same. One moment I’m creating content for our social media channels, the next I’m writing newsletters or partner articles, updating the website, diving into ad campaign results, or improving the online booking journey. That variety is exactly what keeps me inspired.

Dolphin Suites & Wellness has actually been part of my journey almost from day one on Curaçao. I first worked with the hotel as a client during my time at a tourist TV channel and magazine, and later again while working at a Marketing Agency. Some collaborations simply keep coming bac, and for good reason.

What makes wellness so interesting to me is how personal it is. For one person it’s relaxation, for another it’s movement, recovery, or mindfulness. It can be big or small—but it always adds meaning to the overall experience.

Dolphin Suites is already widely known as one of the most accessible hotels on the island, especially for guests in wheelchairs. But for me, that’s just the beginning. There’s so much opportunity to grow this into a strong, well-rounded wellness concept.

I’m excited to bring my experience, creativity, and strategic mindset together to keep building that story. one meaningful guest experience at a time!

It inspires me to see guests enjoy their vacation or participation into the dolphin assisted therapy program. I like seeing that Dolphin Suites hotel is visited by guests with different cultures.

What I like more, is humor and have a laugh with the guests. I do think that it is important to let our guests feel that nothing is asked to much.
