For us, responsible travel is about more than protecting the environment.

It means creating a place where everyone feels welcome, supporting the people and organizations around us and making thoughtful choices that contribute to a better Curaçao.


Since opening our doors, we have been committed to combining inclusive hospitality with environmental and social responsibility. We know there is always more to do, and we continue to learn, improve and work with partners who share our vision.

Our Planet


Caring for Curaçao and our environment

Curaçao’s natural environment is part of what makes our island so special. We continually look for ways to reduce our environmental impact while maintaining a comfortable and welcoming experience for our guests.

Saving energy and water

Solar panels, energy-efficient systems and the thoughtful use of natural light and ventilation help us reduce our energy consumption.

Water-saving filters installed on our showers and taps can reduce water use by up to 75%. We are also working towards reusing greywater from showers and sinks for garden irrigation and exploring opportunities to collect rainwater.

Separating and reducing waste

Together with Green Force, we separate different types of plastic, aluminium cans and residual waste. We also reuse office paper whenever possible, minimize unnecessary printing and ensure that used batteries are responsibly processed.

Equipment and furniture that we no longer need are, where possible, donated to employees or local organizations instead of being discarded.

Reducing single-use plastics

As an official preferred partner of the Water Refill Program Curaçao, we encourage guests and visitors to refill reusable bottles and reduce their use of disposable plastic.

Guests can refill their bottles at Dolphin Suites and purchase a reusable D-Bottle during their stay.

Planting trees through housekeeping choices

Through Hotels for Trees, guests can choose to skip a housekeeping service. For every participating room-cleaning day, a tree is planted through a certified reforestation project.

It is a simple choice that allows our guests to contribute directly to a greener world.

More responsible hotel operations

  • Our environmental approach also includes:
  • Using biodegradable or environmentally responsible cleaning products and guest amenities wherever possible
  • Installing grease traps to prevent fats from entering the surrounding environment
  • Participating in local clean-up activities
  • Learning from Travelife and the Future Ready Hospitality Connected platform
  • Continually reviewing our operations to identify new opportunities for improvement


Caring for animals

Our responsibility extends to the animals that share our environment. In partnership with Kitten Rescue Curaçao, we support a humane Trap-Neuter-Return-Care program for stray cats around the hotel.Kitten Rescue Curaçao, Kitten Rescue Curaçao, kikki

The cats are safely captured, sterilized and returned to a designated feeding area, where they receive daily food and fresh water. This helps stabilize the population and gives the animals a healthier life.



Our People

A hotel designed for everyone

Our hotel is fully wheelchair accessible, with spacious accommodations and thoughtful adaptations integrated into a warm and contemporary environment.

Beyond the hotel itself, we have spent many years helping to improve accessible travel on Curaçao. This has included supporting accessible transportation, adaptive sports, rehabilitation initiatives and greater awareness of the needs and possibilities of people with disabilities.

Today, we continue working with healthcare providers, accessible travel specialists and community organizations to make Curaçao a more inclusive destination.


Supporting our local community

Over the years, we have supported numerous Curaçao organizations through donations, fundraising events, facilities and hands-on involvement.

Our initiatives have included:

  • Donating six handbikes to support adaptive sports
  • Donating 24 adapted children’s beds to the SGR Group
  • Supporting the Daily Meal Program
  • Raising more than XCG 20,000 during the Mindset & Resilience charity seminar
  • Supporting fundraising for accessible transportation
  • Hosting community groups and people facing health or mobility challenges
  • Supporting awareness and inclusion through local events and campaigns

We are proud of these milestones, but even more proud of the long-term relationships behind them.

Health and well-being

Well-being is an important part of our responsibility towards guests, employees and the wider community.

Our team regularly participates in initiatives such as Ride, Walk and Swim for the Roses. We have also contributed to Curaçao’s National Wellness Strategy and supported events that encourage healthier lifestyles, resilience and personal development.

Through our wellness facilities, workshops and partnerships, we aim to create opportunities for both visitors and local residents to relax, learn and improve their well-being.

Supporting our team

Responsible hospitality begins with the people who make every guest experience possible. We invest in employee well-being through training, workshops, annual evaluations, team-building activities, staff benefits, recognition programs and open communication. Our employees can also participate in selected wellness activities and receive access or discounts for local health, fitness and leisure facilities.


Supporting local

Whenever possible, we work with local suppliers, service providers, artists and organizations. By choosing local products and expertise, we help strengthen Curaçao’s economy while sharing more of the island’s creativity and character with our guests.

Our Progress

Turning commitment into impact

Responsible travel is an ongoing journey. From achieving Travelife Gold certification and reducing water consumption to planting trees, supporting adaptive sports and raising funds for local organizations, we are proud of the progress we have made together with our team, guests and partners.

These achievements provide a strong foundation, but they are not the final destination. We continue to review our practices, measure our impact and explore new ways to contribute to a more inclusive, healthy and sustainable Curaçao.

Our work continues. Some of our environmental and social goals for the coming years include:

  • Installing a greywater irrigation system for our gardens
  • Exploring rainwater collection and reuse
  • Expanding recycling stations throughout the hotel
  • Continuing to meet and improve upon Travelife Gold requirements
  • Developing new environmental and community projects with Club 17
  • Exploring opportunities to plant more trees on Curaçao
