Willemstad, May 2022 - Construction has progressed smoothly and the expansion is pleasantly ahead of schedule. In April, the foundation for the third floor was laid. The hotel expansion is expected to open its doors before summer 2023. MIC Management & Consultancy designed the building and are leading the project.
 
The hotel is delighted to work with Pieter Laureys, the lead interior architect at TKI Design, for the design of the interior. With a focus on the special target group that the hotel serves, adjusted elements are blended in a stylish design where nature is brought inside. A calm and soothing atmosphere is created by the use of light and natural colors and carefully chosen comfortable furniture.
 
The hotel is spacious with wide passages and big, open rooms and suites. Light shafts connect the floors of the building and provide natural daylight and fresh air. You’ll find lots of green throughout the hotel as part of the design.
 
Sustainability is a central theme in the design of the building, just as it is an important focus in the operations of the current hotel. Besides the natural light and breezy airways throughout the expansion of the hotel, other sustainable elements include a water irrigation system, grease trap, solar panels for electricity and water heating, a pool with a combination of salt and magnesium in the water, and several control systems to minimize the use of energy.
 
Both the current hotel and the expansion have a strong focus on the wellbeing of its guests as well as the wellbeing of the environment.
