Willemstad, July 2022 - A year ago, on July 5, 2021, Dolphin Suites became one of the first 10 participating hotels to become a partner of the new sustainable initiative Stichting Hotels For Trees. With its early participation, the hotel has supported this Dutch foundation from day one.

The Hotels for Trees Foundation makes a concrete contribution to a greener hotel world. A hotel world where one new tree is planted for every day a guest chooses to skip room cleaning. The foundation now has 100 participating hotels all over the world and a total of 31576 trees have been planted. Dolphin Suites contributed to the planting of a total of 136 trees in the past year. “Our team and our guests are proud of this result!” says Operations Manager Gitteke Pieké.

Dolphin Suites & Wellness has been a leading hotel in the field of sustainable business in Curaçao since its opening. The hotel strives to create a working environment and hotel facilities that leave the minimum possible ecological footprint. Some examples of this are the use of energy-efficient equipment and lighting, and of solar water heaters. In the new building, solar panels will also be placed on the roof and a water recycling system will be installed. The hotel pools contain salt and magnesium and have a minimal chlorine content, and the rooms are cleaned with biodegradable cleaning products. Dolphin Suites was the first hotel in Curaçao to start separating waste in 2016 and has since been an active ambassador within the hospitality sector that wants to encourage other companies to implement similar forms of sustainable business.
